got my futral cam back from polishing.
I sent my cam back to them two weeks ago and its back already and looking very nice now,no more of the fine tooling marks in it.I put a mic on it before and after and it seems they really didnt take anything off,at least that i can measure, they must have took off just enough to get it done. Thanks futral.it was an f10 by the way.

We really appreciate your patience with us. Our grinder is currently working on making their own cores and it looks like it will be about 3 weeks before we will be able to start shipping cams again.

I still don't understand how polishing a cam will resolve the issues with the metal the cam was ground from. I've called Futral a couple times but no answer, so I'm hoping someone can explain this to me. I have an F13 but I'm just about to sell because it seems like the only option.

Some people are claiming bad cores which I would assume the cam mushroomed under the pressure of the lifter. My cam, and a few others, I believe were issues because of the tooling marks creating stress fractures in the case hardened lifter rollers, because all the pressure was concentrated on the top points of the ridges rather than spread out across the whole area. Furthermore the ridges would have channeled away the oil like tires in the rain, piercing through the oil film, and further accelerating wear.
I believe those with ridges will do well once the cam is polished smooth. Props to futral for taking care of their customers.
