Default How much rwhp is a ported 90mm LSX intake worth?

I'm looking at getting this done, to match my AFRs, and I'm wondering whether it's worth the money. Also, what are the places around here that would do it, and the price?

It depends on the accompaning mods. 15-20 rwhp is average for a healthy set-up. Tony Mamo is supposedly the best at porting the LSX to match the AFR's. He works for AFR and is a member here.

I mean we already see 15-20rwhp just from the intake swap, but how much more can be achieved w/ it ported to match.

AVERAGE gains are not quite that high (unported).
15 HP with a 90 is about right...some a little more some a little less.

The few intakes I have had the opportunity to A/B test showed 5-8 additional HP and another 10-12 ft/lbs (the better reason to consider it).
Also, where most out the of the box intakes show the same or slightly less power and TQ on the bottom of the curve, the dyno tests with my ported units showed an increase of 10 ft/lbs as early as 2500 RPM and carried some soild gains across the middle of the curve.

You can PM me for pricing, turn-around, etc. etc. but its NOT the most cost effective mod and is more suited to the guy that doesn't want to leave anything under the table and/or is looking specifically for ways to increase low/midrange TQ.

Here is an older link to Pat G's results with one of my ported units...Note the increase immediatly off the bottom. I think a few extra HP upstairs was from the larger 85 mm MAF (the only other thing changed), but at the low 400 RWHP level, I doubt it was much more than 2 or 3 HP.

Hope this helps...

I saw 17 HP and I ported my Fast 90 myself! As Tony said, excellent low and midrange gains above the LS6/ported T/B combo! With 17 HP at peak! No other changes, same dyno!
