Rod bolt swap done a new way in the car??
I am curios if i could change the connecting rod bolts with the engine in the car and without dropping the k-member..Heres my idea,i am doing head and cam swap at the same time so if i remove the intake/and exhaust system, and remove the heads....is it possible to get a chain connecting the motor mounts and use a cherry picker to lift it up and remove the oil pan and change the bolts out.The tranny will be connected the whole time and act as the pivot point for the motor..Let me know what you think..If there is enough room between the tranny belhousing and the tranny well then i think its possible.its a 6 speed too.

I can't speak for those with stock Kmembers but.....I was able to lift the engine enough to get my oil pan off with a PA Racing Kmember. Didn't have to touch the Kmember bolts.

If you already have the heads off, your just a few more bolts and wires from being able to pull the engine out the top. I would just pull it out and put it on a stand at that point.

I just dropped a lifter into my oil pan and pulled the motor mounts and lifted it so I could get the lifter out.
Their was not enough room to get the oil pan out...you will only gain about 3 inches, after that your tranny will hit the floor pan. If you unbolt the tranny you may have enough room.
I would just pull the motor. Yes it can be done from the top...but it is a sharp angle and you will need the right equipment.
