Default How to tell if pushrods are bent?

How does someone know their pushrods are bent without taking their pushrods out? Is there any unusual noise or big loss of power on top end? I know a guy who went 411rwhp through an auto with bent pushrods, not sure how much they were holding him back, but 12 out of 16 were bad.

Ditto.

Roll them on a piece of glass and you'll know for sure.

Ha, wow. Get your mind out of the gutter.

A mint piece of glass is the only way to go.

so without taking them out, one can tell from a ticking noise? Will there always be a ticking noise?

It takes about an hour to check em' and put em back in, your gamling if you think you have a bent one and dont want to check it. Did you down shift too low on accident?

Does hitting the rev limiter at 7000rpms = bent pushrods? Yes downshifted too low but everything sounds normal, and still feels as powerful as before. Is it possible to get lucky? Could I be worrying over nothing?

Yes overrevving on stock push rods will bend them, now to what point that all depends.
My buddy bent his, but he bent his bad, bad enough that the car sounded like it was camming. The only for sure way to see if they are bent is to take them out.
Even if you have a slight bend in a few or one, now the integrity of that PR is gone and it will only get worse.
You would be better off replacing them all with Chromeoly
