Question Crank Confusion: 'Recessed 0.400" ' = ???

Hi folks, I really need some help on this - I placed an order for an NV4500 manual transmission (in a truck), and the clutch / flywheel kit have some issues that I really need help on.

The kit only fits Gen III engines with a 'recessed crank' (by .400") It is a McLeod 168 flywheel and I'm talking about kit: 712500M from Advance Adapters Inc.

The clutch is a Centreforce 11" - plate: CF165552 & disc: 383735.

Can anyone tell me whether all/some/none of the LSx engines have a crank like this??? I am looking at a crate LS2 from here: http://www.crateenginedepot.com/LS2-...50-P929C2.aspx

Unless anyone has any suggestions on a better package at comparable money? (I'll probably need to reduce the compression, but that's another story...).

I'm a bit lost on this, and being in Europe means experience is a bit thin on the ground...???

How can I tell if an engine has the required 'recessed' crank or not?

Cheers, Al.
