Default 99+ knock sensors in a 98

I am about to put an intake manifold on my 98 and i have heard that the knock sensors suck and can some times cause false knock. So I want to up grade them but i dont think the new sensors will hook strait up and i need some sort of connection to go between my new sensor and old harness. Who sells these? A link would be great.

Do you have any false knock now? If not I'd leave them alone. When I replaced my intake I replaced the sensors (and harness) with the later parts with hopes of getting rid of the false knock. The phucking old sensors had the same part number as the new and it didn't get rid of the false knock either If your going to replace the sensors you need the newer harness. I got everything through GMPartsdirect. More info here https://ls1tech.com/forums/pcm-diagnostics-tuning/310559-98-knock-sensor-update.html

i just did this on my car. called my local dealer and got 2 knocks sensors and the knock sensor wire for a 02 LS1 car. plugged everything right in without a problem. i also put a couple wraps of teflon tape on them and torqued them to i think 10lbs

You should not have put on teflon it may make them less sensitive to knock and why did you they don't need to be sealed.
