i don't get it

C6 LS2s have 10.9:1 compression and C6 LS7s have 11:1:1 compression, why is it that under boost, LS2s are doing fine, but LS7s a re blowing up?
Why is it that the LS2s are handling boost so well with that high of compression. I think the LS2s handle boost better than LS1s (10.1:1) and LS6s (10.5:1).....

Maybe a topic for advanced tech.

What exactly is blowing up on the ls7?

One thing to remember is that static compression does not tell the whole story. As CID increases, so does the size of the cam to feed the motor, which in turn closes the intake valve later and bleeds off dynamic compression. Thats why you might only be able to run 10.5 SCR on a 346 on pump gas, but then you can run 10.9:1 SCR on a 360 and 11.1:1 SCR on a 427.

im guessing CI's, but Orangepeel is right try the advanced tech section

Maybe the titanium rods are more brittle and cant take the added shock?

Rumor has it GM was having a problem N/A with these enignes. From what a few people have told me, the pistons are the weakest part of the engines but I have have heard about the rods breaking also. The rods should not have a problem at all, but everything can break. The quality of the rods may not be up to par as far as material and/or correct machining and assembly.

yea, i've heard that also.....but what's funny is that it seems the LS2 is actually stronger/stouter than the LS7 in regards to parts/bottom end strength and can handle much more rwhp....
the owner of MTI has his c6 ls2 making 640rwhp for awhile and it's still running strong. They turned the boost up and it's making over 700 to the wheels and still running hard.
This other guy slapped a procharger on his c6z06 and after the dyno tune, as soon as he turned the corner, his motor popped (threw a rod).

If I ever get a LS7 I woulf fully forge the bottom anyway before it gets dropped in. Fuck that stock GM shit.
