Car Won't Start

Today I tried to start my car and it didn't even turn over, the accessories just turned on. I tried several times and didn't even hear the starter click. I can turn my headlights on and they don't appear dim or anything. After 5 or so minutes of trying to start the car and it making no noise, it finally started. Does this sound like my starter needs to be replaced?

Next time it won't start check if the lites dim or go out. In the mean time, always a good idea to clean and tighten all of you connections.

The lights don't dim at all when I try to start it. All the power stuff seems fine.

Sounds like the VATS. Check to see if the security light is blinking when it wont start. I think it bypasses after 30 or so times trying ot start it which i'm sure is what happened if you were trying to start it for 5 minutes. Usually either you key is dirty (try cleaning it) the chip is out on the key, or the cylender piece that reads the chip is bad which is usually the case.

If you search, there is a way to bypass it. It will happen again if it's the VATS, be ready.
