98 timing chain issue!! I noticed that my stock timing chain is not lining up perfectly. Does this happen from the factory or has my chain jumped a tooth? The chain does seem to be a litt;e ;oose. Anyone have any insight with this? Curtis |
I doubt that its jumped a tooth. Its possible that its stretched that far even though it may not fill like it has. I seen one once that a guy drove through some water and almost hydrolocked the motor, it put enough stress on the motor it stretched the timing chain out causing it to be off a tooth. While you got it apart you might as well swap it out for the LS2 timing chain. |
Upgrade to the LS2 chain and call it a day. New gears would be highly reccomended also. |
