Flycut piston? and push rods?

Well i blew a head gasket and instead of just going in replaceing it im just gunna say screw it and just do head and cam swap it may not be the best economical thing to do but im gunna do it anways. Im putting in patriot stage 2 LS6 Heads and a FMS FM1-F11-112 228/230 576/595cam and ive read though all the stickies and and done my reaserch and i have read nothing on this and how to flycut the pistons when and when not to do them but will i need to do this with the this head and cam combo? If i have to do it how do i do it? Also when choseing push rods im still confused on how to determine which ones i need ive seen the charts but im still consfused on how that all works so if you all could help me i would much aprecate it thanks

From what I understand, with that size of a cam and unmilled heads you should not have to fly cut. Before I started installing my heads, I installed a TSP 231/231, and didn't have to fly cut. BuT I am not 100% sure on this so hopefully someone with a little more knowledge than me will chime in.

I'm wondering the same exact things. Does anyone the limits to when we need to start fly cutting?

Can't say the exact limits because it depends on the ramp rate of the Cam. When the cams at max lift, the piston is at or around BDC. It's when the pistons approaching or leaving TDC that you have to worry that the valve is either opening too quick for the piston to get out of the way or closing too slow (valve float can happen too) to get out of the way of the piston.

What head gasket you plan on runnin? That makes a difference as well.

I have the 59cc heads, .040" gasket and the X3 cam. I notched my pistons.
