Get a bigger cam.
I really believe you will want a bigger cam within a month or so.

i live here as well in CA that is and i love that cam it has plenty of room for heads to improve it, check out my website with my mods 372/372 to the wheels in 100º heat on a chasis dyno, with P&P ls6 heads dynoer claimed well over 400 at the rear the cam is just waiting, and seat of pants difference is insane

Id get a bigger cam if it were possible, but since you have to smog the car, id check to make sure you can pass with that cam. Many think that the 224/224 is pretty much the limit.

I have the TR224 on a 114lsa. I can pass smog on the machine, but like you not the visual (headers). Synergy says they can tune to pass the cam you are looking at. Who are you going to use for tuning? You should make a good daily driver with that cam. The 114 will still lope and you should be able to keep the idle at stock or very close.

Good luck
