What size motor is this for? I hope not a 346 unless it's 12 or 13:1 compression, because a 239/250 114LSA cam has way too late of an intake valve closing point to build good dynamic compression and its valve events won't work out well with a FAST or LS6 manifold. If it's for a bigger motor, then that's a different story. |

So the Fast intake is a stumbling block here? |
The tuned runner length and cross-sectional area of the FAST intake will try to force a power peak around 6300 rpm. The latest intake valve closing point you can go with before you start working against the intake is 47-48 degrees ABDC at .050 with a 370 ci motor. Any IVC after that is going to make you lose more power in the mid-range than you'll gain above 6300. Your dynamic compression is going to be really low with such a late IVC. I would recommend narrowing the LSA to at least 112 to get your IVC more in line with where it needs to be. |
It's too late this time. The cam is already in the car. I am building another motor before spring. I will post some results this week. I would like to go to the dyno, but I am definitely going to the track. |
