Why power peaked at 5,700 w/FM-13

Well I am looking a little more into the reason my car peaked so quick on the dyno.

I was thinking it was because of the LS1 intake starving a bit for air .
Also a few times at the top of the RPM range I get a p0103 MAF high frequncy . I will be changing the MAF tommaorw and the the connection seems good .A few people had mentioned that it may be a tooth off . I am very attenteive when I do this so I am don't think it is off but maybey my eyes weren't working right that day .

Any ideas or is it normal

Stock heads don't flow well any higher than that. You've got a cam that will pull to 6500 easy and heads that run out of steam in the upper 5k's. Until you get some better flowing heads, that's where your limitation will be.

I disagree, plenty of people peak higher than that with an F13 and just about every other cam. I think the intake is whats holding you back, what LSA and ICL for the FM13?

I didn't degree the cam due to buying used I didn't have a cam card

It looks like a 112+4 graph
The LS1 intake will hold back the peak some.
That cam should peak after 6K (if it is a 112+4)

treyZ28 10-26-2006 10:27 AM

Wow. That is one flat torque curve.

RedHardSupra 10-26-2006 12:30 PM

what do you have for injectors?

SSpdDmon 10-26-2006 12:48 PM

Where is your timing at throughout the rpms?

TOS98SS 10-26-2006 05:16 PM

Stock 98 injectors

Timming I am not sure about

Heads, intake and some rod bolts. It'll be singing then!

With your mods, you're not pulling enough air to cause high MAF error, so that is an issue. Is it clean? You don't show the A/F on the graph, were timing and A/F optimized while it was on the dyno? Do you have cats? was COT turned off?

The torque curve is very flat and wide. SLP L-T contribute a bit to that and possibly the cam has too much advance.

I understand the MAF shouldn't be maxing out it seems ok lately . No cats . the dyno sheet is what I got I don't know a/f and timming wish I did

has the car been tuned? I have an f13 on 111lsa+1. It peaked at around 6300-6400 and pulls hard to 6800. It made 396/372. But i do have the LS6 intake. other mods were Lt's, borla cat back, Lid, Tuned. I think yours should be peaking atleast as high as mine unless it was ground on a real low lsa which i doubt.

TOS98SS 10-27-2006 07:23 AM

yeah it was tunned . I guess I really need the intake
