Default ETP 11* valve placement Vs Standard LSx 15*

http://web.ics.purdue.edu/~lgigliot/...ck_LSx_15*.jpg

This is on a set of 225cc ETP 11* heads in relation to a stock LS6/1/x. I marked both with ~ the same size cutter, and you can see the difference in valve placement.

In doing R&D this past weekend, I was going to flycut, but after taking some measurements, the standard LSx flycuts will not even work. We were aware of this, but just verifying the data we had.

So, In conclusion, if you have ETP heads and want/need to flycut, you will have to use the heads you have (which I dont reccommend) or get a dummy head from ETP (Which I am working on )

That makes sense, different angle of valve drop
So the ETP valves would hit a little more towards the center of piston, correct?
Like missing the deep part of the eyebrow (LSx style) and more towards the shallower part?
Or is it the opposite and the eyebrow actualy should move higher towards the outer piston circle?

Right, eyebrow actually moves towards the outer circle of the piston. Im ASSuming that in order to keep the valvetrain happy, they kept the rocker in ~ the same place and moved the rest. Thats merely, pure assumption on my part

So would you have more PTV issues going with an 11* head? Seems like it to me..

This thread is about the valve placement on the top of the piston head, and it seems toyally correct and logical.

The PTV clearance issues are discussed in this other thread from today as well I copied below and I wait for someone from ETP (Craig or Cary) to shime in and explain their thought :

you know... if you just made an adjustable cutting jig you could make a lot of money off it..

So are you saying that the guides are actually in a diffrent location as compared to the stockers? The angularity portion makes sense, those marks won't be the same, but I didn't think the actual valve spacing or location changed over stock. That'd be a bitch if you had yella terra's or some other "coupled" rocker system.

I have not checked valve center to center, I will do that tonight. THey do provide their own rocker pedastal FWIW.
