O2's low voltage I asked same ? a couple of weeks ago on a slow board.Tried a few things nothing worked.I then just replaced all 4 o2's.Been fine tell today.SES 131/137/151/157 WTF!!!Maybe someone can help! Can running to rich or to lean cause this as well.My car is basically stock except for FRA/catback/descreened maf. Any help would be most appreciated. Ive been reading boards for a couple of years. Finally started posting and board i was using was slow as snails and i have cable modem. New ls1tech junkie!!!!!! Thanx for the new board!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
Re: O2's low voltage I had the same problem (am I the one who responded to your post on this subject a couple weeks ago?). In my case it was a wiring issue, related to the fact that I had extended my O2 sensor wiring due to longtube headers. I didn't see you mention headers in your post, but I'd be willing to be that its a wiring problem and not a sensor problem. |
Re: O2's low voltage TransAmCam thanx for trying to help.I have stock manifolds.Ive traced all the wires and they all seem fine.I reset everything. It only does it on hard accelerating,I think 1 time it came on cruising.Ive never messed w/the exhaust(other than catback)or unplugged o2's for any reason,up untill i started having this problem.Thats why i was wondering if i was running to rich or to lean if this would maybe cause it.It did it real bad after i descreened my maf.I ruined it taking it out so i cant put it back to see if o2 codes quit being throwed. |
Re: O2's low voltage If your MAF sensor wires are messed up, you'll run WAY rich. Running too rich for long enough will foul your O2s. |
Re: O2's low voltage THANX again ill check it out.If the wires arent the problem u think i should get a maft?By the way i dont think i ever said but i have a 98 T/A it only has 32,000 miles on it. |
Re: O2's low voltage You should probably figure out exactly why you're running rich before you start playing with your air/fuel mixture with a MAFT. If you leaned it out with the MAFT, and the original problem either gets corrected or corrects itself, you could lean out too much and detonate. You could do serious damage that way. If all else fails, you could always have the dealership run some diagnostics. I'm not a big fan of going to the dealer, but for things like this its sometimes the fastest route to a solution. |
Re: O2's low voltage I gotcha worse case its n excuse for atap.I have auto xray but its just not the same.I agree about dealers, cant stand them Thanx again hoefully i get fixed. |
