Cut-Out location??
Anyone have any input on where I should get my cut-out installed? Pros and cons? Can I do it before the cat? and if so can I still reach it to cap it?

Re: Cut-Out location??
The most common place is in the indention underneath the right rear passenger's seat and is what I would suggest.
You couldn't install cuttouts before the cats and maintain their stock location. Besides, unless you are running a large cube engine or tons of nitrous I think you would suffer from too much lowend and midrange power loss with what would essentially be open headers.

Another vote for "Zed-Style" or after the axle. Nice and quiet, increases HP, easy to cap in 2min, even on lowered cars.
If you have a restrictive "over the axle" tube, then maybe slightly larger gains may be seen with a "before the axle" cutout, but I doubt whether the gain is significant based on watching both types on the dyno on many different cars.

I installed my cutout on my car waaaay back when people were going crazy over them. I put it right under the passenger side like the Colonel mentioned, but I would highly recommend NOT doing that. It will rattle the heat sheilds, resonate in the car, and in some cases heat the floorboard enough to burn the carpet(like mine). Do the "ZED" style cutout, you'll be happy you did. Good luck.......

I think he was talking about under the passengers "Back" seat. This is where the indentation is. This is the spot I put mine and I have not had any problems with it. <img src="images/icons/wink.gif" border="0">
