Poor man's timing retard

Anybody know what effect coolant temp has on the timing curves? I was reading where a guy was complaining he could not get much timing because he was running at 230 degrees.

I had tried tricking the IAT and that pulls a teeny bit of timing but I wonder if I trick the coolant temp sensor into telling the car it's running hot if it would pull more timing??? hmmmmm........

Disconnect your knock retard sensors to get an immediate 4* of retard at WOT! Is that poor man enough for you? <img src="images/icons/grin.gif" border="0">

But that pulls it accross the board which I don't want to do.

Although you may be on to something. I could disable them at a certain rpm with my window switch.

Anybody know what resistance they have to read to trick the pcm into thinking they are unplugged?
