Default LS2 chain on orginial ls1 gears?
Will a new LS2 timing chain work on '02 LS1 cam gears?
Or do I have to buy LS2 gears to match?

I have a new ls2 chain and I am going to use it on the old ls1 gears. I asked this question a few weeks ago and got several replys telling me it was fine, so you should be fine.

im using an LS1 crank sprocket and LS2 cam sprocket

LS2 chain on LS1 gears, no probs here. The LS2 is the current replacement for all lsx based motors (except ls7)
