Default Need help with oil pressure

I have a 98 ls1 camaro that loses oil pressure when you get on it hard. It gets oil pressure back, but it gets down to about 15 pounds before it comes up again. It idles at 35-40 pounds and if you rev it slowly it goes up just like it always has. Could it be the sending unit or oil pump.

not really sure what it could be but i would start by making sure theres is enough oil in the motor first. I have a buddy that had something like this ill give him a call and see what it was.

use a mechanical oil pressure gauge to determine your problem

I'd bet my left nut the bypass valve is sticking open. I've seen it so many times it's rediculous. The relief valve is a stainless steel cup in an aluminum housing and is prone to gauling.
