Default when do the lifters need to be changed? (how good are stock)

i did my heads cam swap, should i of done lifters too? no one ever mentioned to get them done, when are they needed

Some will say new one's are needed, others say you don't. I did mine since they had 90K on them, and figured since i had the heads off why not... When you took them out, how did they look? Any rotting,pitting, or groves that you can feel with your finger nail, and i would replace...

for about $120 shipped, I replace them most of the time when the heads are off

12499225 PN for the LS7 lifters(replacement for ls1/6)

yeah, its a no brainer if the heads are off... If youre not planning on pulling the heads, dont worry, there are lots of cammed cars well over 100K.

I just did mine and it was well worth it. It seems like the engine is a bit quieter.

IMO if you have 50,000 or under you are in risk of causing more problems switching them.

stock lifters are fine. IF you decide to do it, buy the GM OEM replacements, they are cheap and obviously work well.
