What's a 422 Worth???

Guys what do you think a 422 LS1 is worth? I might have to part out the TA & was trying to figure out what its worth. I was kind of thinking around 10K or so with a donor motor. What do you guys think? Just wondering...
It only has 150 miles on it

Jason I think 10K is fair. I'm doing a buildup with a C5R block and I know what parts cost. Plus you spend over 2K in just the resleeving of the block. For a completely stock motor that is fair in my opinion. Someone will jump on it eventually its just hard to sell something so pricey.

Good Luck

I wouldn't take less than $10,000 and a stock engine for the 422. It's a damn good price for an engine that has a whopping 150 miles on it, and someone WILL take advantage of the good price in time. It cost me $8,800 to build a 383 cid LS1 close to two years ago, and I did a LOT of shopping around for good deals. We all know what a 422 cid costs new.

Tel you what I would buy it if I had that kind of change. What compression does it have? Maybe a turboed guy would want to get it

Jason,

Why are you selling it? Those are seriously impressive motors, judging by what I am willing to spend on one

I'm buying a Z06, dont worry eventually the Z06 will have a 422 also, just not for a year or 2. Gotta build up some $$ $ $ $ $

Yeah I would sell it for that amount with a stock motor thrown in.

OK - I get it. Z06 with 422 = one seriously radical ride.

Though you can't exactly call our cars sleepers, you will lose even more of that with a Z06. On the other hand, you will get sex appeal, phenomenal handling, and unbelievably fast acceleration. I think I understand what you want

Sometime down the road (= 1-2 years from now) I may do the same thing. But I am also wondering - can I get a Z06, put in a 422, and then maybe a twin-turbo on top of that I guess I want to find out how much horsepower I can get before lifting the heads.

I think MMS charge 11,000 or so for a complete 427CI motor brand new, so maybe 8-9k for your 422?
