Default Compression question for any iron block pump gas guys in here

I've tried search several times tonight and does not work

Whats the most SCR and DCR you guys are getting away with safely in a 6.0 block?

It depends more on the cam and the fuel and the expected running conditions. It's the same as with the other blocks. The highest SCR I have run on pump gas is still only a lil more than 11.5 to one and that's with a fairly big cam. I think the DCR would be around 8.3 to one or so on that one.

93 octane pump gas street strip car...I had always been told in a SBC you could get away with 1/2 point more with aluminum. Thats was why I was wondering if I should back down from the 11.5 I had in the LS1

Figure out your DCR and that will determine what you can and can't run. Typically no one runs more than 8.5:1 or so DCR on pump gas 93.
