Default h/c from ls1-408

I'm getting prc 5.3 2.5 heads and ms3 cam for my 99 TA and maybe in a year getting 408 shortblock with a (s/c?). Would the h/c work well with the 408 if I just swapped them over? If not, is there any h/c that would make good power for the 346 but also be used on the 6.0? Thanks!!

I don't know a lot about those heads, but I know the MS3 wouldn't be a good supercharger cam.

You should really think this out before you decide what to do. Ultimately if you want to go the supercharger (procharger I would recomend) you should buy that first rather than the NA parts. If you also plan on going the procharger route I would suggest getting a kit with an upgraded head unit from the start. 408 and D1SC aren't exactly the best combo out there. A F1, F1A, F1C, or F1R would make making big power easier.

If you plan on staying NA or going the nitrous route those would suit the 408 well and save you some money, granted you still would probably want to change the cam. You just need to decide what path you're going to take and stick to it. Mixing and matching parts only ends up costing you money.

i agree. the cam will need to be changed going from an n/a 346 to a f/i 408.usually on f/i you want a wide lsa like a 114-116 or so.
