Oil splatter on driver's-side firewall (help!) I took some digital pictures of the oil splatter on my driver's-side firewall. I have Dynatech race headers (been on the car for about 6 months) and if you look closely you can see some kind of thick, viscous, black, leak (oil?) from in between the header gasket and the head. This happening around the exhaust port on #3 and #7. I have no idea what this could be from. The oil splatter on the firewall is immediately visible though. I have relocated my PCV valve to be verticle in the port in the back of the driver's-side valve cover. Could this be the cause of the splatter. I am a little worried and have not been able to figure out what is causing this. Any help would be REALLY appreciated. Thanks. <img src="graemlins/gr_hail.gif" border="0" alt="[hail]" /> -Kris http://www.msnusers.com/My%20Web%20D...e/BackLeak.jpg |
Re: Oil splatter on driver's-side firewall (help!) Don't really want to sign up for a MSN account to view your Pic's. Maybe you could post them some other way.. |
Re: Oil splatter on driver's-side firewall (help!) If you've had the valvecovers off quite a few times, the gasket could've worked its way out. Feel around back there & see if the gasket is sticking out of the cover at all. Their really cheap & easy to replace. Also make sure that tube coming out of the cover is & good & tight. |
