MS4 111LSA vs. MS4 110LSA
i am interested in the Ms4 cam, which is 239/242 .649/.609 on a 111, not sure of the icl. Now if that cam is ground on a 110, how does it affect the powerband. I know it gives it more overlap, but will it provide more low end. I am looking for a larger cam with a nastier idle than my tsp 231/237 but want to retain some low end or even try to get more than the Xe lobed cam i have now. I also want to be able to rev to 6850 which is where i am at now with the 231/237. Am i lookng at the wrong cam for my needs? Recommendations are welcome. i can also fit some bigger cam since i have -2cc valve reliefs.

I do not have this cam installed yet. It is sitting in my room awaiting the supporting parts to install. According to TSP'S site the ms4 comes in 111 standard or 112 for smoother idle. I can tell you that the cam is slightly larger then what the site states. The ICL on my cam card is 110 so mine has a degree of advance ground in. I'm not sure if that standard or not though. As far as getting more bottom end then your 231\237 I'd call TSP and check with them. You may lose bottom end with the ms4 some of that will depend on your setup (heads headers) etc. According to my chats with TSP and the GMHTP article the cam will rev out to 7k peaking at 6400 with very minimal falloff to 7k. The good thing about you having pistons with reliefs is that you will be able to mill your heads some to gain compression which will improve you hp and tq. Just check with the head manufacturer if aftermarket and TSP for how much you can take off. Hope this helps you.

With the stage 2.5 heads and MS4 (111 sep) I can cruise all day long in 6th at 1500 rpms with no bucking /surging. Hell I pull a trailer with tires/tools for race days and never had a problem either. Stop and go traffic is a pain in the *** though

I was SHOCKED at how much more down low torque I gained over BOTH the 231 AND MS3'S
To answer your question: yes, you will gain low-end BIG TIME.

Dragon, could you post up some of your dyno graphs comparing the 231/237 and ms4. I would like to see how the two curves compare. If you have them.
Also it seems like the noticebale power starts to come in around 3500 with my 231/237. Is that how yours felt and how does the ms4 compare.
Thanks
