Took off the oil filler cap and......
There was a yellowish-green slime on the bottom of it. Never seen that before. Any ideas what it could be?? I was thinking coolant maybe.

I always get that. Condensation sometimes too.
I wouldn't worry about it unless it's really excessive - I've had it since I bought the car.
Try smelling it. Mine always smelled like oil anyway. If it smells fishy like coolant you could be in trouble.

I had my LT1 in for warranty repair on the famous intake manifold leak.
They filled oit with green-yellow dye to see the oil (couldn't just look down the rear of the motor).
They swapped the intake and I got it home, checked oil and it still was G-Y.
I called the dealer, they said it wouldn't hurt it. I was pissed.
I drained the oil to see very large thin chunks of gasket slip out the drain hole.
Now I was enraged. Service manager argued with me for 10 minutes, insisting that gasket wouldn't hurt the motor. I said "even if it block the oil pick up?" already knowing the awnser.
The dick actually said "If you see your oil pressure gauge fluctuate and drop to zero more than once, bring it in".
Oh if only it were leagal to...... <img src="graemlins/gr_guns.gif" border="0" alt="[guns]" />
Have you been to the dealer lately?
