cost of short block's NEED HELP!!!!!

does anyone have a list of prices for diff. manufacturers of forged short blocks? finnally got mine tuned and on the way home it ran rough at low speed but felt ok when i got on it . half way there it started running worse. drove home easy. once there i popped the hood and could here what sounded like a broke rocker or something. idled ok but above two grand popped out exhaust and could here something that sounded broke. pulled valve covers looks fine all move the same. pulled intake and valley cover. looked @ visible lifters look ok. also note no oil @ rockers ran about 2-3 min. and shut down. bottom end has 100500. miles on it. would like to get more but doesnt look good. i am fairly new to ls1's but have done several old school motors. any help is appreciated

Your best bet would be to call each company. I got a quote for a 408 Iron Block, All forged internals. For around 3600. But thats not including shipping, that has to be arranged by you. Just call around they all are pretty good about giving quotes.

I would say TSP, LS1Speed, Thunder Racing. TSP was the quote I mentioned on the 408. TSP has GREAT customer service. All those guys are great.

Livernois, they have just about the best deal for the quality of components they use, and mike shropp over there is a great guy to deal with

I had been looking at assembled short blocks for a few months now. It seems TSP has the best priced I can find on the net. I think I have decided to just get a rotating assembly and rebuild mine tho. Good luck!
