Default Best gap for a TR-6 for N/A application?

Just like it says, what's the best gap I can use for my TR-6 plugs that I'm installing tomorrow? The car just has a few bolt-ons, nothing major, it's all in the sig.. TIA!

Gotta post your sig first Brian ....

I have found that .044 works the best on N/A bolt on cars, worked good for me.

Go with TR-6s gapped at about .038.

But that was on a car with some occasional N2O use too...

If you are never going to run nitrous, I'd gap them at .048-.050 since the factory gap is .060 and generally speaking you should never go .010 less than factory.

You can get TR-5's in 0.038 gap (actually TR55), can you also get TR-6's in that too?

I got TR6's on the chance that I decide to spray. The max gap for them is .049. I don't think that with my bolt on car I need a smaller gap than that.

TR-6 were designed for .035 and you should not gap more then .008,
else you will change the spark pattern.
So that would be a max of .043 for this plug.
This is also a 1 step colder plug and if the engine is near stock the colder plug is not a plus.

I'd say for about every 100 HP increase, reduce gap by about .010

I have run nothing but NGK TR-6's gapped at .038 since day one in my car. My car seems to like the colder plugs even without the bottle

Thanks for letting me know. I have mine in the box, gapped at .049 ready to go in the car. A member at ls1.com, ahem, told me .049 was max. .043 it is.
