Cam install q's

I've had my Firebird for about 2 years, but I'm still a kind of a noob about modding it.

I read some great reviews for the TR224 cam, but I still have a few questions.
How well will it work with stock heads?
Will it require computer tuning?
If it does require tuning, how do I go about it?
Will the stock springs work, or will I need aftermarket?

Sorry if you guys have answered these a thousand times already. Thanks for any help. <img border="0" alt="[Pontiac]" title="" src="graemlins/formula.gif" />

It'll run great with stock heads. Probably one of the best cams for stock heads.

The computer tuning kind of depends on whether you have an M6 or an A4. If you have an M6 you shouldn't NEED tuning, but you will probably get a few more hp with it. A4s are kind of iffy. Chances are you will need some tuning to raise your idle speed. Some people have drilled their throttle blade to raise the idle.

You'll definitely need springs. The stock ones will not handle the lift of that cam (not for very long, at least). Also, if you plan on raising your rev limiter to take full advantage of the cam, you'll need springs that can handle the higher rpms.

It is an A4. So will an MAF translator do the tuning trick, or am I on the wrong track here? What do you mean drilled the throttle blade? Like, actually put a hole in it?

Oh yeah. Which LSA would you recommend, 112 or 114? Does it make that much of a difference?
