Re: Back to the Cartek Z package.....
They are very nice numbers but I would like to know a couple of things <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />
I would like to know if they are LS6 heads ($$$) or LS1 cores <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />
Also is the cam bigger than 226 duration on either intake or exhaust side.
I think the car should run 125mph no problem with those dyno numbers and everything setup right.
Cheers,
Chris

Re: Back to the Cartek Z package.....
Correction Terry, he said the cam was less than 230 duration and said they were aluminum heads. I don't believe he specified which heads or specific duration.

Re: Back to the Cartek Z package.....
I think he said "less than 230 duration".
Terry-
Stop arguing with JS,the point is moot.
He doesn't understand that you are quicker. It's always "your car is lighter".
No ****! The ET is the ET.
Make more power or lose more weight, it's that simple.
it's all about the ET!
No offense,JS.But talk about YOUR ET's, not what another driver did in your car.
Terry's car would go quicker with a 100lb. girl driving it.
Of coarse your car would be faster if it were lighter,it would also be faster
on nitrous.
JS-you make more power
Terry-quicker in the 1320.(and the 1/8th)
That's just the facts.
Sorry if you don't agree with this, just my 2 cents.

Re: Back to the Cartek Z package.....
Here's what Tekhombre stated:
Here is some information I can provide.
It's a stock and untouched bottom end 346 CID, it has a hydraulic roller cam with less than 230 duration, Z06 intake (no "R" heads), cold air package, TPIS headers, Borla exhaust, UD pulley.
He also said the heads are aluminum but didn't share whether they were LS1 or LS6 heads. My vote is for LS6 heads <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />

Re: Back to the Cartek Z package.....
Terry,
Just because MMS has to rely on a radical cam to get some power from there inefficient heads doesn't mean cartek does the same. cartek's head design is good enough where they don't need a huge cam. I was told the duration was far below the 230 mark for the "z" package cam.

Re: Back to the Cartek Z package.....
Terry thanks for having my cartek thread closed!! A guy cant enjoy his NEW HP 3's with out you making negative comments. Stay out of any threads that have to do with cartek or myself in the near future. You dont shine any light on cartek but only attempt to destroy their rep with your mouth diarrhea. Just accept the fact that my car has 10 second potential N/A....and it will do it with proof SOON!! I just cant figure you out man!!
Could it be that you were laughed at as you were growing up for having a first name <terry> of a woman???? Or could it have been that your last name was Burger?? I guess I would be upset too knowing I was named after cooked beef patty and you always hearing the girls say "wheres the beef?""
My conclusion:
Terry is really a woman that is constantly complaining and PMSING.
Burger aint nothing but beef and the slang for beef is to complain.
Put both names together and you get TERRY BURGER======THE BIGGEST F*CKING COMPLAINER ON THE FORUM.!!
HAVE A NICE DAY!!

229? <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />
Just Kidding <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />
I am genuinely curious as to the answer of my Q's above. LS6 heads or LS1? 226+ duration intake or exhaust?
Cheers,
Chris
ps- I think you will hit 125mph in that car

Re: Back to the Cartek Z package.....
I saw the car idleing at 850 rpm with no stumble(unlike the MMS Top Fuel cam), so I would guess that it would pull better vacuum numbers than you.
Maybe if MMS used real valve springs on the dyno to keep seat pressures down. keeping seat pressures down will show better numbers on the dyno since you wouldn't be paristically sucking from the already low rwhp numbers. Then maybe you could rev it higher to the 7300 rpm mark where you actually would make the power. Instead of nosing over on the top early. That cam must shake that car. You should change your name to Terry "My car idles like a pro stock" Burger. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />
So Terry, tell me this. Why is it that we only hear about your car. Where are all the other MMS cars. I don't see anyone else running any type of numbers from MMS. Maybe MMS doesn't have any fast cars...hmmm. just a thought. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />

For the record several guys have heard my cam idle and commented on how tame it is.
As long as we're comparing things my 2001 A4 (unlocked TP4400) runs about the same MPH as that 460rwhp C5 with the Cartek "z" package, and I have full slicks and a 1800' DA. I doubt our race weights are different.

What is you obsession with these vacuum gauges, is that the only tool that MMS knows how to use. I guess so, seeing the sad hp numbers.

Remember the race is to the end of the quarter, not the 8th. Regardless you won't be able to duplicate those numbers over here in Jersey, since your 13.5:1 compression won't work at sea level(you'll ping to death) and there are too many people around to see you hit it with a 50 shot to get that number again.
