Safe RPM's a)What is the RPM limit for a stock bottom end? b)Has anyone found out or are you estimating? |
Re: Safe RPM's Nobody can really answer this question with 100% accuracy. Several people on here have spun their stock bottom ends waaay up in the RPM's without problems. GThere are guys on the board that have spun their bottom ends up 7K and lasted quite a while. All depends on how well the motor was built from GM.. As far as stock valvetrain, I wouldn't spin it any higher than 6200.. Josh |
Re: Safe RPM's I wouldnt take it past 6600 without an aftermarket valvetrain. [ June 02, 2002, 06:33 PM: Message edited by: The Booker man ] |
Re: Safe RPM's I will be setting mine to 7000 RPMs and shift at 6800 to take full advantage of my cam( 591/591 226/226 112). |
