crane cams (hr5 lobe) 220/224 .585/.585 114+4. that's a strong street piece, that makes great trq from 2500-5800, and good hp untill 6100. also it is easy on parts as well. typical rpm range 2200-6400. has a slight chop at idle too.

looking into the same thing, how would say a 224/228 114 fair as a cam only? what kind of gains, power (hp/trq) range would we get. ????

anything under a 230 duration with 114 lsa would probably offer good ride quality, not so rough and still offer good powerband, I am looking at 228/228 .588/.588 114LSA(tsp 228Rcam) for my daily driver. you can go higher if you wanted but it might be a little rougher, most guys in my area go with the TR224 (224/224 .561/.561 114lsa) for there daily drivers, it isnt very rough at all and has a decent powerband, I am hoping for a little more out of the TSP 228R or I would go with the TR224. Excellent tuner could make bigger cam feel more tame though.
