Cam break in procedure

What is the recommended break in procedure after a cam install?

The cam won't need a break in, but the springs like to be heat cycled a bit IIRC.

correct
roller cams don't need a break in like flat tappet cams
just heat cycle the springs a few times before going above 3000rpm

Diddo, maybe change the oil after about 500 to 1000 miles in case of new parts seating in. Like new timing chain or oil pump. Just a thought.

thats what i did too, new metal in the engine, means new oil after 500-1000mi i did find small particles of metal in the oil, after the next oil change, everything was good. i also heat cycled 4 times.
