Default Dyno Results!! TEA Stage 2 5.3L Heads w/ TR 230/224 cam

I'm kind of not sure what to think of my results yet. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Confused]" src="images/icons/confused.gif" />

I'll get the graph posted in the next day or so.

Final results: 436rwhp @ 6300rpm /401rwtq @ 4800 rpm...through a 33 spline 12 bolt 3.73 rear end.

Zero Dyno Tricks!- No open headers, no shortbelt. Full exhaust, tires at 35psi.

I have at least 420rwhp from 5750rpm-6900rpm. And at least 430rwhp from 6000rpm-6550rpm

Heads Info- Total Engine Airflow Stage 2 5.3L truck heads with: Comp Titanium retainers, Comp 987 double springs, 2.02 Ferrea intake valves, 1.55 UDI dished exhaust valve

Head Compression Ratio: 10.8x:1

Head flowsheet specs:

Lift Intake Exhaust

.100 72.2 55.0
.200 141.6 105.2
.300 205.6 151.5
.400 254.6 193.4
.500 290.1 231.0
.550 300.4 247.2
.600 306.2 260.4

Cam Specs: 230.8/224.3 .576/.563 110.8 LSA

The one problem we noticed was that my fuel pressure got as low as 53psi towards the upper rpm ranges. It seems as if my fuel pump is barely hanging on at high rpm's. I'm not sure if I'm being hindered by the lack of fuel pressure at that high of rpms.

Baseline dyno was 363rwhp/372rwtq....it seems this dyno is notorious for putting down lower numbers than others in the area (which can be seen by my 8rwhp/8rwtq drop in hp from my last dyno)

So I basically gained 73rwhp/29rwtq with LS1 edit tuning. Not as much as I had hoped for considering the size of the TR 230 cam. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Sad]" src="gr_sad.gif" />

I think my weak link is either the TEA heads or the fuel pump.

The car is idling poorly right now, and it occasionally dies when I hit the brakes hard. We raised the idle to 950rpm, and drilled a 9/32 hole in the TB blade. Helps some, but not much. It still keeps dying on me and hunting for idle...especially with the air conditioning on. I We had to delete the misfire code detection because my SES light would flash constantly.

Car lopes like a ****. In first gear the tach can't even come close to keeping up. The tach says only 6000rpm when in reality I've already hit the 7000 rpm rev limiter. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="gr_eek2.gif" />

Since it was 112 degrees out at dyno time <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="gr_eek2.gif" /> the shop suggested that I come back and re-dyno when it gets cooler.

Special thanks to Xtreme Motorsports in Tempe AZ (Phoenix Area) for all their hard work. Awesome service and knowledgeable techs. <img border="0" alt="[cheers]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_cheers.gif" />

Dude if you're complaining about having 436RWHP 401 RWTQ with heads amd cam you are on crack!

Those are ******* awesome #'s. They are inflated though due to the lighter than stock flywheel and lighter carbon fiber DS.

The aluminum flywheel may show an increase on the dyno but it won't help you at the track, a heavier flywheel will help get the car off the line quicker and won't bog like it does with the aluminum flywheel.

With the right weather the car should run 11.5-11.2 at the race weight you have.

Good luck! <img border="0" alt="[cheers]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_cheers.gif" />

So are you happy or dissapointed with your results? <img border="0" title="" alt="[Confused]" src="images/icons/confused.gif" /> I can't tell from your post. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Razz]" src="gr_tounge.gif" />

My a/f ratio was also iffy....

What did your A/F ratio look like? Did the dyno have a wideband?

I would imagine that you might have been getting a little lean towards the upper rpms if your fp was dropping down to 53psi.

Atap the car and see what the O2's and KR look like.

436rwhp is still pretty damn awesome. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

Awesome results! That reverse-split cam really kicks some major ***. Tell me about your exhaust (headers, y-pipe diameter, cat back). Just curious.

Congrats!

Have you ever replaced your fuel filter? That's something easy to replace and could be a restriction at higher flows if its dirty. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

Man whats not to like about those numbers. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="gr_eek2.gif" /> 436 hp through a 12 bolt w/373's and full exhaust. Sweet. Those TEA heads are loking real good right now. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" /> Congrats. <img border="0" alt="[cheers]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_cheers.gif" />

The a/f ratio kept getting richer even though fuel pressure kept dropping all the way to the redline.

RPM A/F Ratio
------------------
4000 13.1
4500 12.9
5000 12.8
5500 12.7
6000 12.6
6200 12.5
6600 12.4
6700 12.3
6800 12.2

According to the Tech II we were using there was no KR. I ataped my o2's on the way home after the dyno and they came out perfect and also saw no KR.

I have the exact head and cam package on my car, but I havent made it to the dyno yet. Do you have a ls6 intake also?

That is insane. I am going to try either the TR cam or the Fastech cam here in the next week or so. Those numbers are smoking.
