Let's talk about head gaskets?

I have done several head swap's before, but this one is on my car. I have had problems with the Cometic gaskets before. They tend not to seal all the time. So I'm thinking Felpro, which I have used on friends cars with no issues or GM's. Let's hear som comments.

Putting on AFR 205's. N/A, mods is sig.

I am running AFRs milled .024 to 62cc and using Cometic .040 gaskets with no problems what-so-ever. They've been on the car since the end of last summer.

yeah i used cometic .045s with my milled .030 to 61cc and they held great and i even pulled one head and reused it. i did copper coat it that time never a leak. when i did the 402 i went .040s and copper coated cause i plan to never take the heads off.
i say its all in the prep. super clean and flat makes a big diffrence.

We went with the GM MLS gaskets with our milled 241s (.025) and no clearance issues, on my wife's SS, with an ECS cam that tunes in the range of ~240-242 on the intake/exhaust.

Good prep., MLS gaskets, and copper spray. Works like a charm, and not messy if you pull the heads again in the future.

i have to trq. them 10-15 ft. lbs tighter in my engines, to make sure they seal up properly. only on the larger head bolts though.

I have never used copper spray before. That might help. I would just hate to have them leak, like I have seen before.

Best copper coat far and away is VHT copper cement. Permatex is crap, KW is crap, in comparison. It goes on even, maintains emulsion longer in the can, and works great.

But other than cometics look into SCE titan ICS, I've had great results with these.
