what did everybody do before the LS2 timing chain?

what did everybody do before the LS2 timing chain? Just wondering. I still run the stock timing chain and am not really worried about it. I don't rev it like alot of people do and don't go to the track. Just a toy for the weekends. I started a thread a while back to see how many people run the stock chain and was surprised how many people do. I know it's cheap but fighting the oil pump tube and dropping the pan down doesn't sound like much fun. Anyway back to the topic, what did everybody use before the LS2 chain came out? Stock or double?

yea, I for sure didn't want to mess with the oil pump. Mine runs almost 50 at idle warmed up. Didn't see a need to change when the pressure is that good. If I was running alot bigger cam i would have to agree with ya, a better timing chain would probably be a good idea.
