Building engine, but heads are leaking bad?

Building engine, but heads are leaking bad? Well, went to the shop yesterday to check up on my car, getting a new forged engine.
THought they had it in, well they did but the're taking it out.
the engine was assembled, and when they went to fill it up with coolant, it flowed out of the heads (were it mates to the block). alot!
Any ideas on why? Heads were torqued down to 65 lbs with ARP studs. Using new cometic mls HP gaskets, 3.910 bore. Heads are 6.0 L
COuld the heads be warped that bad, did seem noticable, looked liked they just got milled.
could the head gaskets be on back to front?
there going to disassemble the heads to day to try and find the problem.

Re: Building engine, but heads are leaking bad? they have to be damn near perfect not to leak. Also, the gasket can be flipped over and not leak...I know <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" /> Mine leaked twice...once due to a head not being flat......only had 4500 miles on the heads. The other time, the firing ring in the center of the gasket had slid out of its place and the head wasnt sitting flat.
Re: Building engine, but heads are leaking bad? Ummmmm...did they put the temp sender in the driver's head and the plug in the passenger head? Seen it happen. Or if you have the LS6 intake, did they remember the plugs for the crossover tube in the rear (on top of the heads)?
I really doubt the head gaskets are leaking that bad.

still on the ls1 intake
ill have to check on the temp sender.
the heads were milled slightly
cometic told me i should use the engine bore size for the gaskets.

Re: Building engine, but heads are leaking bad? Mine leaked like a frikking sieve! You could hear the **** running out while I was pouring water in. Mine was coming out around the studs

GM gaskets are MLS, spring steel w/ viton seals, don't leak, and cost <$20 each. Go figure <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />

FWIW, 6.0L GM gaskets are PN 12569365
GM gaskets are MLS, spring steel w/ viton seals, don't leak, and cost <$20 each. Go figure <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />
