Head surface Q's....

Got my heads today, and there is a scratch on the surface that contacts the block, that goes from the combustion chamber all the way out to the side of the head. It isn't very deep, you can barely feel it with your fingernail, should I have the heads resurfaced, or should it be ok? Again, its not that deep, more like a scratch. Thanks, Shawn

Re: Head surface Q's....

What gaskets are you using? I would not take any chances if it is running into the chamber.

Re: Head surface Q's....

I am using the stock gaskets. It doesn't really go into the chamber. I have pics, let me see if I can post them, I'll email you one, see if you can see what I'm talking about. Thanks, Shawn

I wouldn't worry about that! Especially if you are using a stock composite head gasket. It looks like it's just a scratch.
