Too MUCH oil pressure?

Too MUCH oil pressure? Just installed the LS6 intake, didn't break the oil pressure unit, and I currently run M1 5W-30 Full Synthetic, motor has 106k miles...
Was out this morning, let the car warm up for about 10 minutes, took it around the block a few times, get everything limber, went out onto the highway, smashed 1st to 2nd, car went haywire, caught it, then ran it through 2nd and 3rd... I like the fact that the power doesn't run and hide anymore. But as I was at the top of second, near 5k-5.5k RPM, the oil pressure was OVER 60... This is more than likely a dumb question, but I've never seen it that high on the car before, generally it's BARELY at 60psi under WOT... Or is my motor possibly in better condition than I give it credit for...?
