Question what do yall think of these h/c packages?

ok well ive been struggling on deciding what heads and cam to purchase. ive narrowed down my selection as far as i can and was wondering what yall think. anyone have these packages? anyone have dyno numbers for any of these packages?

HEADS:
Trick Flow 215's or AFR 205's

CAMS:
MS4 or G5X3 or G5X4

*also what do yall think of the 525 h/c package from SLP?

Ive never seen anyone recomend one of the SLP packages over other aftermarket H/C packages.

Some Trickflows, not sure if its the 210's require aftermarket rockers. never see anything but good from AFR and the #/times form both can be pretty impressive.

If you spend that kinda coin on heads, search Patrick G's name, theres a link in his sig, you can have him spec you a cam through TR, and I beleive you get a discount on that cam then from TR + you will not be dissapointed with it.

Patrick is putting down 475 rwhp, 429 rwtq with a 223/227 110LSA cam and afr's in a 347 cubed motor. The 3 cams you have listed will probably end up getting you around that much...if even that, and the powerband wont be near as low as a smaller cam that can do just as much.

talk to patrick, you'll be happy you did.

AFR and G5-x3@114 is already a proven street combo. the real question is when do you want 450+HP to the wheels?

AFR's are proven again and again at the track. That trick flow combo is proven on the dyno.

Look at the dyno graph as well. First of all Vengence tells you to subtract 20-25 hp and tq for the real numbers. It isnt putting 525 down. When they tell you subtract then even they know the numerss aren't accurate. Dyno's can be tweaked to produce what ever number you want during a run.

Second look at the damn graph again. The power isnt until 3500-400 rpms. WTF are you gonna do with that on the street beside get your *** handed to you off the line by every suv out there?

Many shops have made more power with the TFS 215's than any other head they have tested. East Coast Supercharging, Vette Doctors and Vengeance just to name a few.

Here is a post of a guy that installed his TFS 215 heads and tuned it himself, 498 RWHP
https://ls1tech.com/forums/showthrea...light=jeffstar

Here is a post of a guy with a LS6 intake, dyno'd at Vette doctors, 498 RWHP
https://ls1tech.com/forums/dynamometer-results-comparisons/636103-trickflow-215-heads-vette-doctors-custom-cam-results.html

Oh yea, track results, this guy went over 100 MPH in the 1/8th, with a 230/230 cam
https://ls1tech.com/forums/drag-racing-results/661545-new-bestofinally-100mph-1-8-mile.html

This guy went over 101 MPH in the 1/8th mile, his car made 505 RWHP, he dyno'd it at another shop and it made more power than it did on the Vengeance dyno.

You can't go wrong with the TFS 215 heads and any of the cams listed, as the TFS heads are not sensitive to camshafts.

Where do you keep coming up with this subtract 25 horsepower from??? I made a comment weeks ago that even IF you subtracted 25rwhp from the stock dyno AND the heads/cam results we still made over 150rwhp GAIN....

Our dyno has been proven to be completely accurate time and time again......We have cars that we have built here strapping down elsewhere and making the same, if not more horsepower than they did at our shop.....

Think about this for a minute, someone pays me 8k for a full heads/cam package and we tell them they made 500rwhp... You dont think they are going to want this verified elsewhere to know they got what they paid for?

Lastly, we have a Z06 running at his local 1/8 mile track hitting 6.90s @ 101 in complete street trim... We also have an A4 F body running 10.70s@127mph on his first few shakedown runs....

I think our packages MORE than speak for themselves....

No doubt in my mind,

I plan on picking up some TFS 215cc heads,
and either a Thunder Racing or new TFS Cam!

I am looking forward to seeing what others have done with the big TFS CAM,
which is not really that big,
I would expect it to make over 500rwhp on a stock bottom.

I am shooting for 500 usable rwhp,
for an otherwise stock 02 Ls1 z28.
Plan on Diff, Driveshaft, Clutch, ET Streets,
would like to see it go 10.99@120 at 3500lbs incl. Driver,
and I don't care what the dyno numbers say, but I assume to run those numbers it will have to make 530ish.

I just have to finish some work on my other car first, ( Old Camaro )
before I can start on this one. ( LS1 car )
