What's up with my ride???

Alright guys, ever since I had my hooker longtubes installed...I've had issues w/the way my car runs.

I have a slightly rough idle @ 650rpms, but it only happens sometimes. During normal times the car idles about 900 rpms or so.

Also if I let the car sit for a minute at idle, like at a stoplight, the car hesitates when I try go, then backfires! Again, only sometimes.

Could this be a vacuum leak...like the AIR tubes or whatever arent sealed well enough, or is it something totally different.

Today I also noticed a slight "whining" sound when going up to redline in first gear, but I couldn't get the car to do it again.

Thanks for any advise or ideas.

My Hooker Headers
O2 bung misaligned so badly O2 sensor wouldn't fit
1/4 inch gap on primary because not welded - compressed air blew thru it - leak!
Several primaries had to have slag removed
Flange required filing to smooth out.
Driverside O2 rubs against car. Needs relocating.

Any tuning?

What's your A/F?

Any Atap data?

Many cars run too rich with long tubes because the O2's are moved and see cooler temps.

Unfortunately I have no data as of yet. I'm having the car autotapped on Saturday, so hopefully that will give me a little insight. Also, I was told to change out my fuel filter. I've had the car for about 12K miles and I dont know if it was changed before I bought the car or not, so I'll get that taken care of.

Sounds just the same as my car ran. I had a bad O2 sensor on the front drivers side. Replaced it, and the car idles fine and dosn't hesitate off a red light in the morning anymore.

It sounds like you have a vacuum leak. Did you use new gaskets for the EGR and AIR tube. Remember if you bent the EGR tube just a little bit it would of caused a leak. Found that out when i did the free EGR mod.
