Default single timing chaing to doubler roller swap. questions!!

car: 01 z28 m6.

I'm swapping the single timing chain for a doubler timing chain.

Here is my question/issue:

I plan on using a pulley puller to remove the gear sprocket on the crank. however what is the best way to install the new gear sprocket on the crank?

Do I tap it on or what?

the bottom pulley removal from the crank is best done with a pulley puller as you stated. I used a longer bolt with the same thread to press it back on. Then re-use the stocker to get it all the way in. You will need a new crank bolt after the pulley is fully seated to complete the install.

tap it on with your old original crank gear.

I heated mine with a torch for about 10 minutes and it slid right on perfectly.. no banging needed!

mine pulled right off with a puller. it really was not that much of a press fit.

but the o/p bolt oh my god. buy the slp pump so you wont need the spacers. i could not get the pick up tube to sit right with the pump spacers.

Then i read it in the cam section that the slp pump is cleared for the dual chain.

this was the biggest p.i.t.a i have ever had.

just be very carefull doing the swap

I've heard people having clearance issues w/ SLP's pump and dbl rollers. I've got tsp's ls6 pump and a rollermaster adjustable chain and fits perfect!
