Default Ultra fine sparkles in oil from filte

I did an oil change and when i placed the filter on the drain pan, I noticed some super super fine sparkls in the light in the oil coming from the filter. Is this normal?

no, check for metal flakes in the oil, that would be a bad thing.

If you are worried, send oil from the next change to Blackstone Labs. If your car has miles on it (not new), the main thing you should worry about is finding SOMETHING in your oil. That being a broken part (bearings from rocker arm, ex.). I would recommend an oil analysis. That will cost you $45 or so and you will rest easy afterwards

ehh 37k. I might have knocked the coating of the headers into the oil now that you mention it. Now i got another thing to always worry me in the back of my mind.
