Ready to re-install my lifters any special tricks? Im ready to re-install my lifters, and was wondering if there is any special way to re-install these puppies? I made sure that the lifter that came out is going back in its exact place, but I see oil holes and was wondering if the need to be installed a certain way. Thank you.

Re: Ready to re-install my lifters any special tricks? i'm not sure , but if i remeber correctly, its best if the hiles on the lifters face the rear of the engine.

Re: Ready to re-install my lifters any special tricks? The holes can face either direction and it won't make a difference.
A good trick is to let the lifters soak completely submerged in oil for a while before installing them. This will keep them from clacking much when you first start the motor.

i'm sure it doesn't mattet which way th holes face , but what i heard was an engine builder's trick so the lifters fill up faster.
i also agree on the soaking part.
