ls6 questions
ok i have a 97 ss and have an ls6 block and ls6 intake and i have stock ls1 heads longtubes what kinda power should i be seeing once i have everything together and would it be better for me to save $ and buy ls6 heads or send those ls1 heads off to a shop to get worked? i really would like to see 450hp at the rear wheels and i was thinking of either the ms3 cam or ms4 witch would be a better cam? thanks for the advise

yeah go with the ms4.. first though b4 the cam do a stall. yank ss4000 and then ms4 and then i would go with ls6 heads or maybe a step up. porting the stock ls1 heads will cost as much as a decent set of heads. youll be around your mark i think

use the stock rockers they are fine.
ls6 heads and a ms4 should put you in the 450 range for sure if you were a m6. With your auto it may be hard to do. Dyno numbers for a auto really don't mean much.
You will be happy with the set up, and it will be pretty dam fast.

IS THIS CORRECT?????
Up for auction is a set of heads from a 2004 GTO LS6 5.7 Liter V-8. These heads are casting 241 and are 10.6 compression ratio. These heads are in absolutely perfect condition. They have 5K miles on them. The original spark plugs have never been removed and all the valve train is still on

Like I said, it came with the LS1, so it's the 350 not the 400. No the heads are not worth buying. Your sig says that you are transplanting an LS6 already. Pull those heads and have them done up by a sponsor, I recommend Patriot or Texas-Speed. If you do not already have LS6 heads for some reason, get them from either vendor already ported and polished.
