Default Replace Oil Pan Gasket When Changing Rod Bolts

Is it recommended to change the oil pan gasket when replacing the rod bolts? The engine is a 2001 LS1 with 32K on it. Thanks

dont have to, but make damn sure you put silicone where the front and rear covers meet the oil pan.

Your car does have very low mileage so I'd say you don't have to throw a new one in there as long you don't have any leaks before you pull the pan. Just be sure to clean the mating surfaces and you should be ok. I didn't have to put any silicone on mine and I haven't had any leaks, I just aligned the oil pan to the bellhousing.

I might just get one for the insurance factor. Does anyone have the part number for the LS1 oil pan gasket?

I used my old one also, Pan was off and on three time while I had problem with zero oil pressure and swapping pans for my chevelle from F-Body to CTS-V pan. No silcone was used.. but the rubber bead look ok.. so I just reused it.
