TR's "Old Man" cam Who all has this cam? WHat peformace gains have you seen with it? Im lookin to get a cam but im wanting somethin to work with the stock converter. Would the old man cam and stock verter work aight with each other? i got mostly bolt-ons: headers, duals, lid pulley etc. |
Re: TR's whoops, could someone move this over the internal forum? thx |
Re: TR's :eek2: help please :eek2: |
Re: TR's Stock converter????? I would go with the Comp 212/218 114 LSA. |
Re: TR's Of all the cams custom cams TR offers, the Old Man cam would work best with the stock converter. However, a torque converter would be an excellent upgrade even on a stock motored car. A Vig 2800/3200 and the Old Man cam would be an extremely streetable setup that would also do nicely at the track. Jason |
Re: TR's "Old Man" cam I think the whole idea of that cam was to have ls6'02 cam on steroids. With the 0.600 lift on intake it certainly is. IMHO, springs on intake side will just fly away every year or so. However, it's supposed to retain the idle and give huge gains: here is the graph from thunderracing site http://www.thunderracing.com/index.c...p;contentid=72 thrankly, I don't see any significant gains over LS6 cam (both setups with stock heads). At all... |
Re: TR's Look at the TQ curve and you'll see it. |
Re: TR's well stock converter must stay until this nov cuz tranny burnt up and was rebuilt and the warranty is for a year so im waitin till then to get one. id love to have on choppy ass idle and all but gotta wait on converter before a decent size cam i know. lookin for a way to up the hp but keep the stock converter, was thinkin maybe a lil shot with a progressive controller or cam. |
