Dyno numbers you won't believe!!

At the F-body gathering, I dynoed at the same place I did last year. Last year my numbers were 327/342 with a slp lid and slp y-pipe. NOW this year with my cam, headers, and underdrive pulley and NO TUNING at all, I pulled 390/371 at the wheels. I pulled 6 runs all together between Friday and Sunday. They were (hp in order) 386, 384, 384, 385, 382, and with no filter 390. Now one thing I do have to mention, these numbers are about 5 hp to high except for the 382. When I hit the rev limiter at 6250 it spiked about 5 hp's. The 382, I let off right before the rev limiter and got 382. Now this was right after the first run and the car was much warmer. So 882-385 is about right where I am on the numbers. I auto tapped the first 3 runs and received no knock on the first pull, and about .5 on the other two.

One thing that is weird, my tourque curve decreases slightly at about 3200 and stays pretty flat all the way till 5000 at this point it decreases. Its not the nice rainbow that I should have.

At the rev limiter, the hp is still increasing telling me with some very good tuning and getting that rev limiter bumped up, I still have more to put down. I think this car with a ported throttle body is capable of over 400 at the wheels. Can't speculate yet, still have to tune it. I am going to take it to Fbodymotorsports in Charlotte. She seems to think she can get 20 more hp's :D. Well just have to wait and see.

Tommorrow, I will get the disk out of my car and if someone can host it for me, I will be able to show you the two dyno sheets I got with the runs.

Mods are in the sig.

I told you guys you wouldn't believe me

Vince, who was it and what does he drive???

The cam idles very well. You really can't tell I have a cam. Even with no tuning. Now the sewing machine noise, you can't mistake!!

What's so hard to believe about those numbers? Lots of M6s pull over 382 rwhp on stock heads, and even some A4s nowadays. Sounds like its running pretty strong :)

Re: Dyno numbers you won't believe!!

Its just I have not had anything done to the computer. I was expecting 370's with the hope of 380's. I got my wish.

Will just have to see what tuning will give it.

Dyno #s are cool but what about track times , thats where its at. I only dynoed 340 at the wheels.

Track times will have to wait to Bowling Green show. But track times have just as much to do with the driver as it does with hp.

Re: Dyno numbers you won't believe!!

My first pass with the 224/224 112 cam with all bolt ons was 393 so I would say you are right on par. I only gained 9hp and 13tq with tunning. I did gain a lot of tq down low though. Now I just need to get to the track for some new times. Good luck.

Hmm, tuning should pick up 15 or so...

one thing to remember about single pattern cams is that they rock at idle. That is compared to a split patern.

It's not hard to believe the #'s. Congrats on your new #'s, but 400 rwhp with stock heads is done all the time here in GA.

Great numbers! I'm installing the 224/224 114LSA in the next couple of weeks. I hope to see around 390hp myself.

Those numbers seem right on par. My TR220 gave me the numbers below with no pulley or TB.

dont put too much faith in dyno numbers, every dyno changes,
check out my sig, on that same dyno a viper gts put down 365 which is only 5 more then me.

If you were dynoed on a Dynojet dyno your #'s would be about 50rwhp higher. You'll get a better tune on the Mustang dyno because it compensates for real world conditions.

Man, I'd love to hear that thing sometime! Do you ever hang out around Asheville?

I do indeed hang out in Ashville. But the cars going up for a short while to send the tts lth's back so they can send me some new ones. The number 1 tube is bent wrong and rubbs the steering column. Will e-mail ya and we can get together.
