241's What is the largest cam that a set of stock, unported 241's efficiently support? I want to make both max power and strong torque #'s all through the power range. I know that cams are a trade off, but what do you guys suggest? The car is stock weight, 3.42's, M6. I will be doing LT's and true duals with an x pipe in the future. I'm thinking of going with a Moser 4.10's also. Thanks. |
T-Rex, texas giant, g5x4, RJ-15 are about the largest cams that will fit. The MS3, MS4 might be a little smaller, if you dont want it to be all top end. |
wow texas giant on stock heads?.... i dont think i would do that its too big. The Ms4 is already crazy enough in my oppinion |
All of those cams listed by Guitsboy are too big for what you want. Are you going to get new valves, valve job, mill the heads, or are they going to be box stock as cast? At the least I'd get 2.02 intake and 1.57 exhaust valves and a good valve job. Then mill them .035-.040 to jack up the compression. |

I'm just looking for a cam I can bolt in and go. I plan to do the standard bolt on mods, along with headers and the TSP true duals. I would step up to the Comp Cams pushrods and probably get their rockers too. I don't want to get into pulling heads and all that on this motor. I probably need a cam that'll make power from like 2000-6500 cause I don't want to put too much stress on the stock short block. I'm hoping to eventually get a L92 stroker crate motor, with some cnc'd L92 heads. For the time being, I want to kind of keep it simple, but make the most of what I've got and make some strong power. Thanks Clif |
i have a trex with 241 heads. Havn't gotten it tuned yet but we'll see waht kind of power it makes |
Let me know how that cam does when you get it tuned. |
