Default big cam guys - how long do you let it warm up?

I have noticed a problem when i start it up, drive it a short distance, shut it down and start it up again, it has a very difficult time. I have since decided to let it warm up for a full minute and it is seeming to do fine. I have a TRaK cam. What do you guys do? What happens if you don't let it idle? During this time, it goes from 1100rpm down to about 900 rpm.

You probably need to get it tuned again, my car starts up just fine hot or cold. I let it idle for a minute while i adjust the heater and such in the morning then i go. But i never shift over 2K when its cold.

It is likely dumping fuel in the oil if you are struggling that much, either get an oil analysis or re-tune.

I just spoke with Thunder Racing - they said this was normal, and the car needs to warm up before being shut down and started up again

To combat this issue I lean out idle to 16>17 AFR, much less unburned fuel, no issue with oil contamination.

My car tells me when it's ready to go . I let it warm up until the idle smooths out and then I keep it below 2500 until it reaches operating temp.

I let mine idle for about 30 seconds to let the oil get to where it needs to. Then drive it gently till is gets up to operating temperature. But as far as hard starting, that sounds more like a tuning issue.

Usually about 10 minutes. I like to make sure that the oil gets up to temperature before rev'ing it past idle. I don't like to drive with a cold engine, it's hard on valve springs and my comp 921s aren't cheap. No sense wearing them out for no reason.

I like to let it warm up a little when I can.
Some early mornings though, I don't want to **** off the neighbors or wake the baby, so I just leave and keep it under 2,000RPM's. Needs a little tune help yet, I get some good surging when real cold.

All depends on the air temperature outside. If it's 80+ I wait like 30 seconds for it to smooth out after initial start then go. Colder temps I wait for a few minutes before going. Car never has an issue re-starting though, sounds like as the others have said needs tuning.

Thats easy. When the frost melts off the windshield its safe to drive. I worry more about not running it at operating temp before shutting it off. I've been known to idle in the parking lot a work in the winter 5 mins or so before shutting her down. Because I only live 7 miles from work.
